Animal Farm

             Animal Farm, written by George Orwell, is a great story of politics and animals. This story was written with the Russian Revolution and the rise of Stalin's rule in mind. There are ideas of justice; equality and freedom played through out the book. Through this book, the reader can feel the political side of the 20th century, and the end of 'human freedom'. The characters in the book parallel the political groups and people of the time of Stalin.
             Napoleon is the main character in this book. His character is a parallel to Stalin. Just from that description the reader will know that Napoleon in not rated as a good and inspiring character. Napoleon is a pig. On Animal Farm, pigs are the smarter of all of the other animals. Napoleon is looked up to and listened to by all of the other animals because he is smarter and knows better how to run a farm. The animals took over the farm from their owners. The farm was tired of bad treatment and no food. The farmer, farmer Jones, along with his men, could not believe their eyes and were sacred for their lives when they ran away from a stampede of animals. They won, the animals actually did it, and they had the farm all to themselves. It would be all chaos if they didn't have some sort of leaders to tell them how and when and where to farm. That is where Napoleon and Snowball come in. Of course there was more than one leader, otherwise it would be a dictatorship and that is what the animals had just fought to get rid of. Napoleon had other ideas that he knew Snowball would disagree with so he just got rid of Snowball one day. He told the farm that he was in charge now and they had to listen to him or the grotesque dogs would kill anyone who did otherwise. Napoleon had soon created totalitarianism.
