             The people in Australia loves sport. They enjoy to see their countrymen do their best in different sport competitions, and they are good to perform successful results. I will write you something about the results I know. And I can guarantee you, that I know some.
             The first thing I want to write you about is Australian tennis. They are very popular in this sport. The world number one in the male world list is Lleyton Hewitt. He's is only 20 years old, but he has all ready won 3 grand slams : French Open, Australia Open and Wimbledon. He is a very talented, and he can play on grass, hardcourt and gravel. French Open (gravel) , Australia Open (hardcourt) and Wimbledon (grass).
             Lleyton Hewitt is one of them. Mark Philliopusis is the second. He is nearly 27 years old, and he is world number 54. He hasn't won any Grand Slam, but he is also a excellent player. He prefer to play on gravel and hardcourt, and he is that kind of a player, who serves and quickly runs to the net. Just like Pete Sampras, Tim Henman or Goran Ivanisevic.
             Patrick Rafter is also a name in world tennis. He doesn't play any more, but he is still a very popular name in Australia and in the world. He plays just like Philliopusis, namely a serve and then run up to the net. Patrick Rafter prefer to play on grass, and you can see on his results that he's right. He's never won Wimbledon, but he's been in the final 7 times. Unfortunately he never won it.
             Australian soccer aren't so popular. They didn't qualify to the World cup 2002 in Japan/Korea, but they have some good players who players here in Europe. Lets start with Mark Viduka and Harry Kewell. They both play in Leeds, England. Viduka is a very good striker, while Kewell plays in the central middle. And they have a good place in the team.
