             Why I Should Be Able to Say My Speech?
             I believe I should receive another chance to say my persuasive speech because I have a legitimate excuse. On Monday April 5, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. I was present in class but had to leave because of an important phone call asking to leave class to come and get my nephew. My nephew, Nijahl, needed to go to the emergency room and I was his only ride. Dr. Morrison you were not present in class at the time and I could not wait on you so I had to just walk out. Nijahl had an allergic reaction from something he ate in school which caused him to vomit all day. I do apologize for leaving I know it is an excuse but I feel it is a really significant one.
             Public Speaking is something I figure everyone will have to do at least once in their life. Learning to speak correctly is what we as African Americans should try do. My fear of speaking in front of people I do not understand. I always seem to think what are they thinking about me? Am I making myself presentable? And with theses questions I know I need as much help as possible. Learning how to stand correctly, when and when not to emphasize are just some of the ways you can become a better speaker. How you can make any subject relate to any persons everyday life? What I do think is the higher your position in any company the more you will have to speak in front of your co-workers or employees.
             Public Speaking is something I have been scared to do since I can remember. I do not think it is for everyone. Public Speaking is nothing I would chose for an occupation but I do like expressing my opinion. I have a problem trying to express myself in front of people, being the real me, and being comfortable are two other problems. Even with the fear of speaking in front of an audience I would love to pass this class with something better than a C.
