Bach
Bach was the master of Baroque music, at least, that's what we consider him to be now. Back in those days, out of the 1000 or so works he created, only a dozen or so were published. Of course now, a lot of his other pieces/works have been discovered and published. Even to those who don't know his name, can at least hum (if not the whole), of one of his Brandenburg Concerto's, a famous collection of concerto's put together for an orchestra.Bach was born March 21, 1685 in Eisenach (Germany). He was the son of Johann Ambrosius Bach, a German organist and composer. He was taught music by his father, then later his brother Johann Christoph. In 1703 he became violinist for the court orchestra of Duke of Weimar, but left almost immediately to become an organist in Arnstadt. In 1707 Bach moved to Muhlhausen, returning to Weimar the next year to become court organist. And he, in 1717, became Kapellmeister in the court of Prince Leopold of Anhalt-Cothen and in 1723 Bach became Cantor of St. Thomas's in Leipzig, remaining there til his death in July 28, 1750 in Leipzig (Germany).
