MARKETING AND PROMOTING A FILM

A film is the source of most of all our comedy and entertainment which all sorts of ideas come from. One film inspires another and so on and so forth. Once a rough draft of a script has been written, the writer has to see a director who will forward the film to a production company (like the ones mentioned below) who will call some well known actors who will then look over the script and decide whether they feel that the script will bring them publicity and whether they are being given the right wage. Sometimes there is a whole cast of people. Like on the ''Oceans 11'' set there was at least five famous film celebs. The script is used to show other potential buyers like ''COLUMBIA-TRISTAR'', ''PARAMOUNT PUICTURES'' and ''UNIVERSAL STUDIOUS.'' they decide whether the film has potential or whether it will be a flop like some of the older forgotten films (THE LEPRECHAUN rings a bell doesn't it Jennifer Anniston?)Most of the people you see on serialized television e.g: Frie

Also radio is one of the best advertising mediums because on a TV everything is in front of you but on the radio you have to use your imagination a lot more and you have your own idea of how the movie will be set. They sometimes use open desert and make new scenery using the budget like in the new Mike Myers film ''The Cat in the Hat. nds (most of the cast), Spin City (Michael J. If you see somebody in a film and get to like their character and familiarize yourself with the person and when you see them on serialized TV you will watch it because you think that because the film was good, then the program might be just as good. '' Others are often real places so the producer will hire a whole street or 'block' as the Americans would call it. The first is simply advertising which the production company pays for and are TV adverts, pictures on the side of a bus, posters on bus stops, free toys inside cereal (children's films obviously. Once an actor or actress has approved the script, a contract is drawn up about how much the actor will be paid. Numerous different companies have constantly used this technique in the advertising world. )The second is called publicity and is absolutely free which a publicity department creates and are reviews, articles, interviews with the stars of the film and gala evenings. When you market a film there are two ways of doing it. The bigger companies like Polydor, Cloumbia-Tristar, Paramount etc don't have a problem with the financing of these movies. The budget has to be carefully deliberated when the film goes into production because if they give, say, $50 million they must make sure that they will make the money back. Gellar, Alyson Hannigan, Seth Green) have all been in a film as part of their debut on television. Movies are also used to portray the things in life, which seem almost impossible or impossible completely, such as: Vampires, Werewolves, Goblins, Superheroes and so on.
