Substance abuse
My name is Clifford Wise Jr., I'm going to tell you about my history of substance abuse. Then I'm going to tell you about my attitude towards crime and drugs now. It all started when I was about 11 or 12 years old it was my first time skipping school. I was supposed wait for my cousin to come pick me up so we could go to the park, but I walked to the park and waited for him there and some high school students were skipping school there too so I met all of them and they asked me if I smoked weed and I told them no because I haven't. Then they pulled out some cocaine and was snorting it and they asked me if I wanted to try it so I did, I snorted about 3 or 4 lines, but I didn't like the way it made me feel. About 30 minutes after that they pulled out a bag of weed and they put it in a metal pipe and started smoking it and they passed it to me so I smoked it and they were telling me to hold it in so I could get real high so I did. I hit it a couple of times and I started to feel real slow. After that day I started smoking it whenever it was around, then I started smoking like every other weekend, then I started smoking more and more until one day I got caught with some at Marshall Middle School, which was the school I was going to
So I told him I was going to steal it if he could get someone to take me up there to get it. at that time, and that is what I went to my first program for. One day one of my old friends, Eric, told me about crystal meth, I was 16 at the time. After doing nine months in that program I was on aftercare for about 3 months, until I started smoking weed again, but this time it was different because I was doing it everyday several times a day. I started smoking meth like every weekend with Eric until I started wanting more of it, but the thing about it is that I didn't have the money for it so I started stealing CD players, speakers, and speaker amplifiers so I could trade it for the meth. After I smoked up all the meth I got from selling the jewelry I decide to turn my self in because I seen I was addicted to meth real bad and I needed help. When the cop saw the aluminum foil he asked me if he could search me so I said yes and he asked me to take my shoes off so I kicked my shoes off in the grass and he seen the bag of meth and arrested me for possession of a controlled substance. I just gave in detail my history of substance abuse. So one day another one of my old friends, David, told me about this guy who was selling jewelry out of a suit case. I learned a big lesson from my experience with crystal meth. By that time I was already waiting for a commitment disposition hearing so I could go to a program, so I went on the run so I could smoke meth because I was smoking it like every other day by that time and I had no other way to get but to steal. When I went to the police station the cops told me that there was a bunch of witnesses who saw me snatch the suitcase so they charged me with that and sent me to the detention center and I had a commitment disposition hearing while I was in there and I went to a program about 2 weeks later. He told me how it makes you feel and he was making it sound like a good thing, so I decided to try it and I liked it.
