Compare and Contrast Bball
Hello, my name is Rich Mendoza and I consider myself a basketball player that is in love with the game. Now I do love the game of basketball and I do think that it is the best sport known to men. But I'm writing this paper to compare and contrast the game of football to the wonderful game of basketball. Basketball is a sport in which you need a lot fundamental's. You do not have to be the greatest you just need some kind of knowledge of the game. Football on the other hand you just need to be bigger than a bull and faster than a rabbit and jump higher than a kangaroo in my perspective. Do not get me wrong football is a great sport and it is very exciting, but basketball you need height in most cases as to say you wanted to play the center or power forward position, in football you can be the shortest person and ever and as long as you can run at least a 4.5 you're the best person in the league. Basketball you need to have a sense of where your teammates are and be able to find them. It is the sole reason why most kids these days choose basketball as a hobby or even a profession. Football is also a sport where a lot of drugs come in the story. Football wears down the body and makes athletes last for only five to eight seasons. It usually does not hurt them because most of them are multi millionaires and have money to waste on foolish things. Also the arenas or huge compared to some stadiums. In basketball you will see a foul every once in a while, but the game is controlled by experienced referrers. Now basketball is an indoor sport, if you as a fan can get to the game then you best believe there is a game going on. They will play rain, snow, sleet, or even blizzard. Football is an outdoor sport that contains and can hold a lot of people. Even though I played both sports in High school I figured I would have to stick with basketball at the next level. Basketball is sports in which you must have dedication and heart to play, now do not get me wrong you need the same in football too but I feel basketball is something a little special as far as talent and athleticism. You can come down wrong on your neck or even be killed from a head to head blow. But in basketball if you get hit, the one who hits you will more than likely be ejected and fined a lot of money. The injuries are a lot worse in football and more life threatening. Also there are too many rules in football to even keep up with.
