Hello, my name is __________, and I consider myself a basketball player who is in love with the game. I think that it is the best sport known to man, so to prove my point, I'm writing this paper to compare and contrast football (another popular sport) to basketball.
             Basketball is a sport in which you need to understand a lot of important fundamentals. To play the sport well, you do not have to be the tallest or fastest guy on the court, but you need to have a full understanding of the game. Football, on the other hand, requires its players to be bigger than a bull and faster than a rabbit. Do not get me wrong, football is a great sport, and it is very exciting, but in basketball you need height in most cases as to say you wanted to play the center or power forward position, in football, you can be the shortest person and ever and as long as you can run at least a 4.5 you're the best person in the league. In basketball you need to have a sense of where your teammates are and are able to find them. Football is the same way, but the only difference is that you have ten other teammates to worry about, while in basketball, you only have four. Basketball has a vigorous work schedule; the average season is at least 55 games, wherein football the most is 18 games. Basketball players are often the nicest as far as communicating with fans; football they are so much meaner, I guess for the simple fact they are mean on the field, so they carry that attitude off with them.
             Also, football is a hard contact sport compared to many. They hit each other every two seconds on average. In basketball, you will see a foul every once in a while, but the game is controlled by experienced referrers. Football is also a sport that can be sneaky; for example you get tackled by two or more people, and they dog pile you if they do not like you, which they probably will not.
