Identifying and Dealing with Stress

             Stress is big problem in our society, if not the biggest. The stress that I am talking about is distress. Distress is the negative stress, which is the stress that you don't want. Stress is when feeling overwhelmed with demands of a situation, from others or your self. Stress can be from everywhere depending on how the person deals with a certain situation. Stress can even come from how you even think. Everybody has one or more attitude types, but one or more of those attitude types can be known to contribute to stress. There are 8 different attitudes that contribute to stress. Success and Approval is when the person must receive approval from the people that is significant to them. Considerateness and Justice is when people must treat the person fairly at all times or the person will do something to pay them back. Immediate and constant gratification is when the person must have everything go his/her way and they should get whatever they want. The "Should" is when people have anxiety over thing that cannot be changed, like tragedies of past events. Overgeneralization is when the person comes up with a conclusion on things even though the person has a little expeince about it. Like for example if a person is suppose to pick someone up and one or two times the person was late and the person said "Why are you always late", even though the person was on time, the other times. Causation is when the person beliefs are that other people around the people are responsible for the person's emotional state. Helplessness are people who continuously see themselves as a victim and see all the outside forces controlling them. Catastrophic expectations are when people have the fear of failure.
