Two great American poets are known to America as Robert Frost and Carl Sandburg. They have written many great poems. I have chosen five from each author. From Robert Frost I chose After Apple-picking, Fire and Ice, October, The Oven Bird, and the Road Not Taken. From Carl Sandburg I chose Hell on the Wabash, Improved Farm land, River Roads, Sea Slant, and Slabs of the Sunburnt Rest.Carl Sandburg used many poetic elements in his poetry. In the poem Improved Farm Land, Sandburg uses hyperbole. In line two it says that trees dig their roots a mile down. He also uses personification; in the same poem he says that the Grand Prairie had great singing family of trees. In the poem River Roads, he also uses personification. He say


He also uses parallelism like so other many poems. In the last poem Slabs of the Sunburnt West he uses parallelism throughout the poem. The other poet I used is known throughout America. It says crows call above the forest floor. I hope that my breaking down the poems poetic elements of the Hell on the Wabash, Improved Farm land, River Roads, Sea Slant, and Slabs of the Sunburnt Rest bye Carl Sand burg, and the poems chose After Apple-picking, Fire and Ice, October, The Oven Bird, and the Road Not Taken written by Robert Frost. In line 19 magnified apples appear and disappear. In his poem After Apple Picking, Frost uses Hyperbole in line 30 he says that ten thousand fruit torch. In the poem Oven Bird Frost uses some simile. In line eight he says that it was grassy and wanted wear. In the poem Fire and Ice Frost uses paradox in the fifth line it says but if it had to perish twice. In the firs line he also uses two roads diverged into a yellow wood.
