Continuous Burning
America is the number one criminal for violent offenses. They have tortured, robbed, and killed many people, cultures, and civilizations. How can anyone get away with all of these brutalities? It's simple, America is a power source that specializes in masquerading their acts. They have manipulated the minds of the people into thinking that America is the "land of the free" where everyone has equal opportunities and are treated equally. As Black people in America we know that this is not true. America has had many "dark-ages" in which it tried to coverup or make little of the brutality and barbarism it has ventured over its people. By doing this, America is keeping its subjects in a state of oppression. Erasing our history, our values, our science, our language, and keeping us down the class line, has made Black people powerless against America's age-old weapon. One of the most left out part in Americas wrongdoings is the lynching that occurred after the end of the Reconstruction Period. The lynches represent another one of America's unanswered problems that deserves to be recognized. Dr. Kim Mayhorn in her art exhibit titled "A Woman Was Lynched the Other Day," has sought to increase it's recogniti
This fear is still present today and serves as a basis of racism and discrimination. This is evident in the movie "Rosewood. King advocated a non-violent approach towards lynching and civil rights, to ensure the dignity of the movement towards equality. The only way they felt they could do this was by "forced" regulation, in other words violence. The main difference about lynching then and modern day lynching, is that the lynches then were carried out by citizens while lynches today are carried out by the government. We have talked about great leaders such as W. The lynch mob was not satisfied, so they took a pig knife to cut open her abdomen and the unborn baby fell to the ground. "Legally" it was not the right of Whites to take judicial matters into their own hands but they did so anyway. They were afraid that Blacks would take over their jobs, their lives, and only imagined that Blacks would soon be involved with their women. " There is an overwhelming amount of Black men in jail, and like Marcus Dixon many of their cases have been racist and based on un-concrete evidence. In it, she features women's lynching that occurred between the 1880s to the 1950s.
