             Christianity started 2000 years ago when Jesus the son of God was born. Christians believe in only one God, but there are three ways he is presented. They are God the father, God the son and God the Holy Spirit. Three main groups of Christians make up the religion: Orthodox, Roman Catholics, and Protestants.
             Jesus was killed after he was nailed to the cross. Three days after his death, Christians believe that his death showed how much God loves the world. They also believe that there is another life after passing away. Because of his death, they consider that their sins can be forgiven.
             Christ, which is another name for Jesus, means 'Messiah' in Greek. When Jesus was alive, the Jews waited for the Messiah who was sent by God to free them. Jesus himself was Jewish. Christians believe that it is important to love Jesus and to follow his teachings. Jesus taught people that they should love God and love one another.
             Christianity possesses two important creeds which are the Apostles' Creed and the Nicene Creed. The beginning of the Nicene Creed states: "We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen, and unseen. We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only son of God." This statement of belief is used by Christians all over the world.
