Christianity is a fascinating world religion that grows in importance everyday. There are many things about this faith that interests people around the world. For example, the history, philosophy and its relevance in today's society makes the religion fascinating. When did this interesting belief all start? Have you ever wondered what happened if you lived when Jesus was around? Christianity started 2000 years ago when Jesus the son of God was born. Christians believe in only one God, but there are three ways he is presented. They are God the father, God the son and God the Holy Spirit. Three main groups of Christians make up the religion: Orthodox, Roman Catholics, and Protestants. Jesus was killed after he was nailed to the cross. Three days after his death, Christians believe that his death showed how much God loves the world. They also believe that there is another life after passing away. Because of his death, they consider that their sins can be forgiven. Christ, which is another name for Jesus, means 'Messiah' in Greek. When Jesus was alive, the Jews waited for the Messiah who was sent by God to free them. Jesus himself was Jewish. Christians believe that it is important to love Jesus and to follow

The Book of Acts tells the story of some of the events in the early days of Christianity. Christianity had its beginnings in Jerusalem. In the nineteenth century, a missionary called Robert Morrisson went to China to translate the Bible to Chinese. Christians feel that they need to devote their whole life to their religion. The Bible is divided into two sections which are called The Old Testament and The New Testament. It is like a code where the letters in the fish spell the first letters of the words that mean 'Jesus Christ, God's son and savior' in the Greek Language. The New Testament is made up of the four Gospels. Some Christians believe that every human being was made by and is loved by God. It is now called the Orthodox Church of America.
