Alcohol

             We live in a society that drinks heavily, and this influences most teens especially teens in our country. In Malaysia, most of us use alcohol to celebrate wedding anniversaries, to welcome the New Year, and to enjoy many other special events. Like many other countries, our country has set a legal age for drinkers which is at the age of twenty-one and above. By the time most teens reach senior high school, nearly all will have faced a choice about whether or not to take a drink. Although this drug is illegal for teenage use, a large percentage of teens use alcohol. Many teens die in automobile accidents, which could have been prevented if they had chosen to say no to alcohol.
             Kids who are drinking regularly in high school seem to be fully aware of the penalties and laws against underage drinking and possession of alcoholic drink but they do not seem to care. They agree that driving while intoxicated is a key role in fatal car accidents, yet they still do it. Many teens believe that cold showers and coffee can sober up a person who is drunk but the fact is, no matter how sober they are, accidents do still happen because they will never be hundred percent free of the influence of alcohol in their body.
             Teens may drink for many different reasons. A big reason for teens to start drinking is because of the problems in their life be it family affairs or non-family affairs. Teens could have a bad relationship with their parents, or parents could get in a fight or even get a divorce and these few problems can cause drinking problem among their child. It is believed that by drinking, they can drown their sorrows and they can escape from their problem. They do not have to think about it and they feel as though all the burdens in their life have been lifted from their shoulders.
