            Romeo and Juliet
            
             The novelist Shakespeare was one of the most prominent in his time. He also has written many other plays such as Hamlet, Oliver Twist, Macbeth and many more.
            
             In this essay I will analyse the play "Romeo and Juliet" written by William Shakespeare. I will focus on Juliet, and write about how she changes during the course of the play.
            
             The story begins with a dispute and ends in tragedy. We first encounter Juliet in act 1, scene 3, when we see that Juliet is a young girl who is inexperienced, very obedient and is a tremendously respectful young child. When her mother calls, Juliet responds, "Madam, I am here, what is your will?"
             This indicates that she is not close to her mother and is being respectful towards her. We see that Juliet wants to hear what her mother wants to say and that she is attentive. Juliet is a typical girl of her time; this is probably a natural response for her.
            
             Lady Capulet is eager to know Juliet's thoughts on marriage when Juliet says,
             "it is an honour that I dream not of."
             This sentence, straight away, tells me that Juliet has not considered marriage. Juliet may feel that she is too young to be involved in matrimony, otherwise she would have thought more about the issue. The use of the word "honour" indicates that Juliet feels that the idea is a blessing, a positive thing, or something beneficial. Furthermore, this also shows that Juliet has never experienced love, and has not fallen in love so far.
            
             Juliet's mother, Lady Capulet, is keen for her to meet a suitor, Paris, at the masquerade party that she has organised. When Juliet replies to her mother,
             "I'll look to like, if looking, move;
             But no more deep will I endart mine eye
             Than your consent gives strength to make it fly."
             This shows that she is quite shallow ...
