Anheuser-Busch

Anheuser-Busch is a well-known name to just about anyone. Not only are they known for their success with their breweries and environmental awareness, but as well for their nine theme parks. It is a company that has lasted a century and a half. It's hard work and dedication is continually shown through the company's continuing success. When looking back at the history, in the mid-1800s, Eberhard Anheuser was a successful manufacturer of soap and candles in St. Louis, Missouri. Then in 1959, he financed a loan to a struggling neighborhood brewery call the Bavarian Brewery, which was originally started back in 1952. When the brewery struggled again in 1860, Anheuser and a partner, William O'Dench, bought the interests of minority creditors rather than see the brewery go under. They decided to reorganize the company and resumed production under the name E. Anheuser & Company. In 1857, the 18-year old Adolphus Busch, the second youngest of 22 children, immigrated to the United States from Germany to join his 3 brothers in St. Louis. Although his brother had started the John B. Busch Brewing Company in Washington, Missouri, Adolphus opted to enter into a partnership with Ernst Wattenberg to sell brewing supplies. It was thro

At the end of its useful life, the book value of the asset will be its residual or salvage value. Depreciation is a legitimate expense that does not require a cash outlay. Since Anheuser-Busch does follow a very similar organizational pattern, they are a very strong company. The assets in the balance sheet began with the current assets. Therefore, using the accelerated method of depreciation helps preserve cash that can be put back into the business (Horngren). The DDB method decreases the book value of the asset by the same percentage each year. The best way to see how the company treats their employees and helps them out is by the following:fæ Promote honest and ethical conduct, including fair dealing and the proactive evaluation and handling of actual and apparent conflicts of interest;fæ Promote full, fair, accurate, timely and understandable disclosure in reports and documents that are filed with, or submitted to, the SEC and in other public communications;fæ Ensure compliance with applicable laws and governmental rules and regulations;fæ Ensure the protection of the Company's business interests, including corporate opportunities, assets and confidential information; andfæ Encourage reporting of illegal and unethical behavior, and deter wrongdoing. No information was available on the method Anheuser-Busch uses to price products. By knowing the several of the major reports, they are crucial in running this major corporation. The depreciation expense can also be calculated using an accelerated method. These include cash, A/R, inventory such as; raw materials and supplies, work in process, finished goods, and other current assets, investments in affiliated companies, plant and equipment, net, and intangible assets, including goodwill of respectively.
