Women are more likely than men

A study was conducted to test the hypothesis that women are more likely than men to look for partners with goals. The Carolina Classified paper want ad section called, Updates, was used to test the hypothesis. Twenty-five women and twenty-five men were systematically selected from the sampling frame, and an observation was made on which ones listed some type of goal as a qualification in their partner and which ones didn't. It was found that more women listed some type of goal as a qualification in their partner than did men. The purpose of this study is to determine if women are more likely than men to look for goals as a qualification in their partners. Goals could be anything that a person hopes to achieve or ascertain in life. Some attributes of goals would be a family, education and money, living a long productive life, and having a strong religious foundation. I plan to illustrate this hypothesis by discussing literature already done on the subject, the unobtrusive research methods used, results, and the conclusion of research. Men and women are very different. Despite the obvious differences, they also differ in what they want out of a relationship. They have differe

Since my sampling interval for the male ads was every 6th ad, I pointed blindly at the male section also. The future research that I might recommend in this area would be if gender preferences was affected by racial identity or if the age of person placing ad affects their preferences in mates. Results: When my study was completed I found that out of the total twenty-five women selected from the sampling frame, fourteen of them wanted someone with goals. Also one may want to do a study that focuses on more than one segment of the dating population, for example a study which dealt with all the counties, regions, and or countries. The type of sampling technique used in this study was probability. There are two types of coding, manifest content and latent content. I used the want ad section, which is called Updates. I used systematic sampling for this study. Many men have steered away from dating because they feel that they constantly have to prove themselves. The study is unobtrusive research because it studies social behavior without affecting it. The type of coding used was manifest coding because I simply observed if the ads contained words (educated, family, money, religion, and, life) that indicated that he/or she was looking for a partner with goals. We all wish to find someone who makes us complete. It gave me a better insight into concept that I wanted to study, how to go about studying it, and how to determine if the measurement that I used help to gain indicators that reflected that concept.
