             Every woman is an individual with unique characteristics and therefore expresses her feelings differently toward her husband. The poem "To My Dear and Loving Husband" by Anne Bradstreet shows a relationship of honesty, love and faith between the husband and the wife. Specific literary elements and techniques are used to convey the idea of how the woman in the poem feels about her husband and how she expresses her feelings.
             The poem right away shows a very loving and happy relationship between the husband and the wife. The speaker says that she and her husband are so close to each other that they could be considered as one. She also points out very clearly that she loves him and is very fund of him. The speaker also says that her husbands' love is the most important thing in her life. Her love is so strong that even rivers would be unable to put out. The speaker also states, "I prize thy love more than whole mines of gold" showing the strong feelings toward her husband. By this poem the speaker is given characteristics of a very loving, caring and honorable wife. The literary techniques that the speaker uses to convey his ideas in the poem are repetition and rhyming. Repetition is seen in the first three lines of the poem when the speaker states "If ever". However, this technique undermines the certainty that other lines seem to express. The other technique of rhyming gives the poem a flow to go by. Every last word of a line rhymes with the following last word to create a greater effect of what is being tried to say. Therefore, the poem by Anne Bradstreet creates an atmosphere of love and compassion.
             Additionally, to make the make the love seem more dramatic, the speaker uses hyporble. Through this she is able to exaggerate the real facts and make the poem more interesting. It states, "I prize thy love more than whole Mines of gold, or all the riches that the East doth hold, my love is such that rivers...
