             Attention Deficit/Hyperactive Disorder is becoming a major interruption in education today. Three to seven school-aged children are being diagnosed out of every one hundred. It is also one of the hardest to diagnose because there is not a clear cut reason or symptom for the disorder.
             Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder is a complex neurobiochemical disorder.
             The causes of Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder can range for biological causes to genetic influences.
             Assessing if the child has Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (AD/HD) a child must have problems that are persistent and cause difficulties on one or more major life areas which are home, school, work, or social setting. They must last for at least six months and appear early in life, before the age of seven. Something that is interesting though is that if work or friendships are not affected, or if the child is overly active at school and not any where else, then it is not Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity disorder.
             Symptoms of AD/HD are the child is developmentally inappropriate levels of inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity. The sounds and images in the child's head are constantly shifting. There is never a quiet moment in the child's head. Something is always going on inside the child 's mind. More symptoms are the child is unable to sit still for very long and is unable to finish the task at hand. Other symptoms are the child is unable to plan ahead, unable to keep from blurting out, exists in disorganization or frenzied activity, helpless to keep mind on tasks, and is wrapped up in own thoughts and images that the child does not notice if someone is talking to him or her. The can appear to control the behavior, but unfortunately this can hurt any relationship the child tries to have with peers or adults.
