ADHD

Attention Deficit/Hyperactive Disorder is becoming a major interruption in education today. Three to seven school-aged children are being diagnosed out of every one hundred. It is also one of the hardest to diagnose because there is not a clear cut reason or symptom for the disorder. Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder is a complex neurobiochemical disorder. The causes of Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder can range for biological causes to genetic influences. Assessing if the child has Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (AD/HD) a child must have problems that are persistent and cause difficulties on one or more major life areas which are home, school, work, or social setting. They must last for at least six

months and appear early in life, before the age of seven. The sounds and images in the child's head are constantly shifting. These can range from a specific learning disability, Tourette's Syndrome, to the more serious Oppositional Defiant Disorder. More symptoms are the child is unable to sit still for very long and is unable to finish the task at hand. Rating the observations should be done by several people, the teacher, the parents, and any others that know the child well. Symptoms of AD/HD are the child is developmentally inappropriate levels of inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity. The can appear to control the behavior, but unfortunately this can hurt any relationship the child tries to have with peers or adults. Something is always going on inside the child's mind. These can also lead to other problems within the child. The child can become anxious, which in turn can cause a tremendous worry, a tremendous tension, or a tremendous uneasiness, when there is nothing to fear.
