             Gambling, according to the Webster Dictionary, is to play a game for money or property. When one is asked what is wrong with our country today, some will say racism, others will say pollution, but something that we fail to look as a problem is underage gambling. Underage gambling is a legal problem that the government chooses to ignore. Law states that if an illegal contract is formed, both parties are left in their current state. Although it is illegal for someone under the age of twenty one to gamble, casinos seem to enforce the law to their own benefit. Today casinos make money from their underage gamblers, instead of enforcing the law. Most of the casinos today are in their own ways corrupt. They are willing to bend or even break the law when money is involved. For example, in 1994 a 19 year old, who lost over $6,200 at Bally's Casino, sued the casino for money lost with no avail. Courts ruled that the kid should not have been in the casino gambling (Hiltzik, n.p.). In contrast to the last example, in 1987 a teenager gambling with his parents was denied a $1.1 million dollar jackpot at Caesars in Las Vegas, the family's lawyer made the best judgement of the current situation. "If they lose, Caesars keeps their money. If they win, Caesars keeps their money, who are these statutes design to protect?" (Yoshihasi, n.p.). The law that was passed to protect teenagers from gambling is being enforced improperly and the wrong people are being accused.
             People that are on the same side as the casino may think that my reasoning is inadequate if one must say. Their views are that the casino is just doing what is "right" for the gamblers. If you lose your money, you lose your money and if you win, you win; unless you are underage. I understand that the casino is trying to keep justice against underage gamblers.
