             Iago is a very manipulative person, and when I say that I am referring to when he accuses Othello of sleeping with his wife, and the only reason he was doing that was so he would have some grounds to come back at Othello with. Which comes out in scene two when he expresses his lust and desire for Desdemona and says "a wife for a wife" (II i.286). With all that in mind it gives me the impression of an evil man that is out to cause controversy, and that is exactly what he does.
             Roderigo is a young jealous suitor of Desdemona and a very ruthless and foolish man at that. With all of his riches he is convinced by Iago to keep supporting him and in return he will help him win over Desdemona's heart for him. But as we all know that is the last thing that Iago would do because he wants her just as bad if not more and that Roderigo is just being played for his money by his so called friend.
             Othello is the plays protagonist and hero throughout the play. He is a Christian Moore and the general of the armies in Venice at the time. He is a very elegant and powerful person respected by almost all throughout Venice, except for those few we know about plotting against him for his wife. All in all Othello was just an upstanding person trying to make a difference in his city and got burned.
             Cassio is Othello's lieutenant and a young and inexperienced one at that, but at
             Least he is in Othello's corner. After his drunken brawl with Cyprus he is revealed of his Duty as lieutenant and I think that is one of Othello's biggest mistakes in the play.This is a play of involving Greek tragedy and I see this as just another way of showing the tragedy through the play.
