On Wednesday morning I was told to drink all of my canteen of water but instead I decided to pour it out. When the platoon Sgt. Ask me about it I told him no. I straight up lied to his face to get out of trouble but I just got in more trouble. If there is one thing I learned it is that lying gets you into more trouble then you were before you have to tell one lie to get out of that and bigger lie to get out of the other one. The same morning I had to face the Commander for an article 15 for a past incident. Our Lieutenant told the Commander about me lying to the platoon sergeant that morning and probably made my punishment more then it would have been. All I know is that I will have integrity for the rest of my army career and my future beyond the military. Lying can turn into a bad habit just like smoking and drinking which are definitely unhealthy characteristics. I know for sure that I do not wish for that to become a habit. Sgt. Smith told us to drink our canteen for a reason but I ignored that and did my own thing. It would be very bad to get discharged from the army for lying about little things such as this. From this day forward I will try to be the solider that I know I can be. By lying straight to Sgt. Smith's face made him not trust me as a person, and as some one who he thought he could trust in a wartime mission to carry out my orders to my very best capability as a soldier in his platoon. And that makes every one not trust me, me friends, family, team leader, squad leader, platoon Sgt and leader and my fellow team mates. As a Military Police Officer you have to have integrity. If you don't, no one will believe you when you go to court to testify against them.
