Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez

In Orange County, roads continue to face growing congestion. Many of Loretta’s concerns regarding economic restrictions, corruption, religious persecution, and human rights violations are a direct result of her visit to Vietnam in the fall of 2000. She supports efforts to secure funds for health research and for programs in search of ways to ease the shortage of healthcare professionals. She also supports efforts to modernize and fix our schools, hire more teachers, and reduce class sizes. She has learned first-hand what the schools in Orange County really need - more teachers, classrooms, space, and resources. She fights and stands up for what is right. She specializes in assisting public agencies with strategic planning, cost-benefit analysis and capital acquisition. Loretta has presented a $25 million dollar grant program, which provides for bulletproof vests for the LAPD. The F-22 has the capabilities to protect our pilots from danger. For this reason, she remains committed to urging the Vietnamese government to improve human and political rights for all citizens in their country. Her achievements include saving taxpayers almost $300 million dollars in finance cost on a single highway construction project and raising more than $40,000 for the Providence Speech and Hearing Center in Orange. Congresswoman Sanchez supports a federal/state partnership to reduce crime and violence in our neighborhoods. For this reason, she has co-sponsored the Nurse Reinvestment Act (HR 1436). She also understands that there is a shortage of health care providers.
