             All web-based newspapers are making best to attract particular viewers in a society; therefore it is possible to look how social stratification operate within web-based newspapers. This essay tries to focus on social structures hidden in layout, format and languages of web-based newspapers by looking at web sites of broadsheet, The Guardian and tabloid, The Sun; which will be a key for analysing the readerships of The Nando Times, US, from its web paper.
             In Section 2 we will look at the reasons for various type of newspapers and its readerships. In Section 3, we will narrow down to examples of leading tabloid and broadsheet papers looking into differences in detail with the support of Section 2. This approach will provide a better understanding of readership in different types of newspapers.
             2.0 Why newspaper media makes different papersTabloids and Broadsheets??
             The content of tabloids and broadsheets differs for some reasons.
             Newspaper publisher target some social groups and they care for what they think their readers are interested in. Readership may vary according to social class, age, gender or race. Some people might make their choice of newspaper according to their interests, politics, or family tradition. Therefore publishers of newspapers take into account their audience's interest, literacy level etc. Tabloid papers are generally read by people who are in lower middle class, who are interested in gossips, and who has lower literacy level than broadsheet readers. Broadsheet papers are on the other hand normally read by people who are in middle class, who are keener on financial news and have higher literacy level compare to tabloid readers. (Appendix 1, 2 & 3)
