             National/Homeland Security Background Paper
             Homeland Security with recent events dealing with 9/11 has only proven that our security in the world is not our biggest problem. Our borders within America are weak. Today technology has reached so many opportunities that if it were fall into the hands of confused individuals we our going to continue see just how weak of a country are within. Yet the more I read about this topic I see how the country has evolved in its ability to protect its. After the War of 1812 our country made it its duties to protect our borders with a strong military present in out main land. After the bombing of Pearl Harbor we understood the importance of having strong intelligence or ability to spread our capabilities and early warning systems. Even the Cold War played a role in our advancing ability to protecting our nation. We experience an arms race that reached the point that we had the capabilities to end civilization. And with the most recent of these events is 9/11. Today I think that more people now understood that technology created vast opportunities both good and bad. Our capabilities as man have reached such an extreme that basically power by one is more dangerous then ever. We need to protect our borders and our ability to understand threats to main land security, even if that means we have to change the way we built this country on. Immigrants have made this country what it is today. Yet 9/11 has only proven that we need to restrict who we let in and protect our borders from invaders of every kind.
