motel guest

I worked at the front desk of a local motel in Acapulco Mexico for a little over a year. While working there, I get to know many different types of motel guests. Distinguishing which kind of guest you were trying to help made it easier to serve that particular customer better.
The convention guest is one of the most important types of guest to the motel industry because this customer is an advertiser for the motel. The word of mouth that is spread from this type of guest can be beneficial or detrimental for the business. If the guests are unhappy with the performance of the motel, they will more than likely complain to the people who planned the convention. These people will consider this information when planning future conventions. If the feedback about the motel is positive, the convention is much more likely to return to the motel. They know that we need to keep them happy. They also feel like since they are with a group, they should have priority over our other customers. These customers can be very stressful, but with a little bit of patience and a lot of hard work, you can keep them happy.
The tourist is a very hard guest to please; however they are also very important to the motel. This customer accounts for over thirty per-cent of our summer business. These are the customers who stay with us because of our chains reputation, and that, in turn, puts stress on the situation. This guest is on vacation, usually with small children, and they want their stay to be perfect. One of the biggest problems with these guests is making sure that the children have enough towels for the pool. When these people are unhappy with our service, they go beyond complaining to management. They also complain to our corporate headquarters. These customers can be very demanding, but if you listen to them,
and do your best to make sure everything is up to standard, there shouldn't be a problem.
