Reflect on 2 socialization agents in your life that are most important in shaping who you are as a person. Describe why they are important and how they have helped socialize you! What are socialization agents? They are the cultural institutions and people involved in socialization. Out of all the socialization agents that have influenced my life, school and family have influenced me the most. These two are the most important factors because they have triggered my spiritual, moral and physical growth.
Family has developed my language, set up rules for my benefit, and showed me correct morals, acting as fine role models. My parents fixed this habit and now when I eat in a restaurant, I use the proper tools to eat my food. In conclusion, family and school are the two most important socialization agent because they contribute people's develop communication skills along with spiritual and moral growth. Therefore, my family developed my spiritual and moral qualities and this proves that family is an important socialization agent. For example, when I was very young, I normally ate my meals with my hands. For example, if you are to attend a school, you have to do your homework, listen in class, and make friends which would help you to develop communication skills and gain more knowledge. Firstly, I have lived with my family for 17 years and they have developed my personality and behaviour. School will help to speak proper language, learn values of human life, and learn to cope with others. School is for education and this will help people gain more information about the world. Secondly, school is another important socialization agent that helps any individual to widen their knowledge. Also, since I was a child, they have taught me that lying and stealing is bad which contributed to my moral development. Without my parents, I would not have learned all the proper manners. My family has taught me how to speak and write different languages which is a necessity in my life. Therefore, school is another major socialization agent.
