Indoor and Outdoor Tanning

Millions of people have found the secret to mind and body survival in the form of a relaxing ten to twenty minute vacation found in the sanctuary of an indoor tanning salon. Everyday problems caused by the time restraints all add to the growing demand for tanning salons. People who choose to tan indoors in a controlled environment are provided with the exact dose of ultraviolet light needed to achieve the proper tan. A person who tans outdoors has to consider such variables as the tan line, weather factors, and time limit. Many people choose indoor tanning to help get a base tan before going on a sunny vacation in order to avoid sunburn. Tanning makes the outer appearance look better to some people. This paper will explore three perspectives about tanning, including indoor tanning, outdoor tanning, and photosensitivity. The sun helps to produce Vitamin D, a vitamin well known to reduce the risk of cancer (Grant). People tend to feel happier, healthier, and full of energy after tanning. A lot of experts in the medical community, as well as image and beauty sources send the message of seeking shelter from the harmful rays of the sun. However, scientific research does back up the idea of feeling

Dark skin tans more easily and burns less because it has more natural protection darkest (The Sun, Indoors & Out and Sunscreen). Those who travel to a foreign country during a summer season would need to alter time in the sun because of different UV intensity. Ultraviolet light exposure also has the same effects as exercising, such as decreased blood pressure, lower resting heart rate, and increasing the blood output to the heart (The Sun, Indoors & Outdoors and Sunscreen). The physical benefits from tanning help offer relief on our suffering health care system. However, the indisputable benefits of exposure to ultraviolet light far outweigh the minimal and manageable risks involved. Photosensitivity is another harmful irritation caused by sun exposure. There is no evidence that simple exposure in minimal doses is harmful. Many people enjoy the perks of indoor tanning before going on a sunny vacation. 2Human life is reliant on sun exposure, and the life-giving effects of ultraviolet light. The difference in genetic backgrounds, dermatologists categorize 3humans into six different skin types, starting with lightest working up to the darkest (The Sun, Indoors & Out and Sunscreen). When you consider that the majority of people who burn are male, according to the AAD, and that 65-70 percent of indoor tanning customers are female, clearly, it is non-tanners who are doing most of the burning outdoors (The Sun, Indoors & Out and Sunscreens). Over exposure, which is defined as any dose of ultraviolet light that causes sunburn, is known as harmful. Through proper education about tanning there should not be any health problems that come along with achieving a golden bronze tan. The index forecasts the amount of radiation that will reach the earth's surface during the peak hour of sunlight, which is usually noon.
