Receiving a scholarship from William Paterson to help continue my education would be amazing. I have attended college here at the university for two years studying Sociology with a minor in Criminal Justice. My GPA stands a t an outstanding 3.9 status showing the effort that I put into my studies. As the population knows, college tuition is very expensive to the unfortunate who cannot receive a certain amount of aid. Currently I have 4 younger brothers, two about to graduate high school within the next year. This means that my parents will have to support 3 children attending college. With my parents getting divorced soon this adds a darker cloud into the mix. As one could imagine having three children in college with little financial aid because of the combined income rule is unjust. As a student I want to stop worrying about where the money for my education is going to come from. I tired of my mother being stressed out because we can only receive a certain amount of money from the government. At this point any additional financial support from the school would be a godsend. Books alone are 400$ plus a semester as well. If I were to receive a scholarship this would lift a huge burden off my shoulders and help me keep my mind on studies better. Even money for books would help out at this time. I have a very bright future as a criminal justice major and plan on graduating with one of the highest GPA in my class. As a student in serious need of support I am asking you to please consider me for a scholarship whether it be for books or my tuition. This will influence me to stride even further and harder in my major, opening new doors and opportunities for all to follow.
