Animal Farm
1. What is the difference between Socialism and Communism? The difference between Socialism and Communism is that socialism is based on the ethics where there are certain classes (e.g.. Social structure) and individual ownership of capital and labourer. The industry itself is also solely owned by the individuals of the system and the proletariats(workers) demands aren't attended to or cared for. The theory of communism abolishes private ownership of industries and manufactures, while leads to equality among the workers and the owners. Although communism is apparent is the eventual outcome some cases, it doesn't come until a rebellion is organized and undertaken successfully among the lower classes, which therefore leads to a revolution where absolute power corrupts and the government and industries are taken full control of. But, Socialism attempts to achieve public ownership and social change by legal means without a revolution. And also, communism, which brings the end
Some of them realised how the pigs left on the farm weren't much different from Jones. But eventual all of their plans and hard work quickly fall apart, after the elimination of Snowball and the rise of pigs on the farm. The communism that Marx wanted workers (proletariats) to lead to by rebellion, would create an idealist system and equality between all. Where does the Story of Animal Farm intersect with the theories of Socialism and Communism? The story of Animal Farm was written based on the events of the Russian Revolution. This like the Russian Revolution and the end of socialism and start of their hopefully successful run of communism. Examples include: The extended rules of the seven commandments (made at the start of the revolution), the benefits and tactics such as the dogs used to silence and shut up their critics. (Which they hoped was long gone) Also with them the concepts which communism is based on: equality, idealist state, power corrupted etc faded at the expense of the pigs. (another of Marx's reasons for revolution) 3. The means of production being the raw materials, factories, land that allow production to take place. (While communism wasn't completely gone). In the end, this ended in the tyranny that the animals suffered with Jones and they might of felt that it was different and rather their freedom. And therefore non of the farm or farm's income goes towards the animals, who are the producers of different products such as milk (cows), meat (pigs) etc. After the revolution, society would become a communism (Abolishment of private possessions) and therefore the government and industries would take control. This leads to the bending of rules by the pigs left on the farm with the apparent lies and cover-ups lead by Clover. Meaning, the farm, the animals and their productions, as well as the means of production are all owned by Jones.
