             The four functions of management are Planning, Organizing, Leading, and Controlling.
             Planning is a solid plan to help you meet your objectives. Planning is an essential component for life and business events, it is easier to accomplish our objectives with a solid plan than to leave things to happenstance.
             Organizing is a key business artifact in any company. Most companies have an organizational chart, these charts show the overall top level view, the functional corporate departments, the field team charts, and within those, the individual department charts. Organization provides the structure for the company to delegate and regulate policy and work.
             Leading is the art of making things within the company happen. Leaders influence other Co-Workers to work towards the common goal.
             I work for Electro Scientific Industries (ESIO) in the passive components group as a machine operator. I run three different types of drilling and boring machines that run CNC, Auto-CAD programming.
             Let me give you a brief introduction to the company I work for. Electro Scientific Industries, Inc. (ESI) is a global supplier of manufacturing equipment to increase productivity for customers in the semiconductor, passive components and electronic equipment markets. As an innovator in the electronics industry, ESI has a legacy of technology firsts and customer recognition for product excellence. The advanced electronic devices you see and use around the world today – cell phones, personal computers, digital cameras, PDAs, even automotive electronics – contain components that were likely manufactured with ESI equipment. The company was founded in 1944 and is headquartered in Portland, Oregon.
             In summary, I basically make tooling parts for the machines we make that other manufacturers use to make their products.
