The four functions of management are Planning, Organizing, Leading, and Controlling.Planning is a solid plan to help you meet your objectives. Planning is an essential component for life and business events, it is easier to accomplish our objectives with a solid plan than to leave things to happenstance.Organizing is a key business artifact in any company. Most companies have an organizational chart, these charts show the overall top level view, the functional corporate departments, the field team charts, and within those, the individual department charts. Organization provides the structure for the company to delegate and regulate policy and work.Leading is the art of making things within the company happen. Leaders influence other Co-Workers to work towards the common goal. I work for Electro Scientific Industries (ESIO) in the passive components group as a machine operator. For example if no one ever was a leader what kind of society would we have, or what kind of progress would humans have, the answer is not very much of the above. The semiconductor group and the laser electronic interconnect. The company was founded in 1944 and is headquartered in Portland, Oregon. Without some kind of organization, this would be a cluttered mess of repeated redundancies and wasted man-hours not to mention a lot of wasted money by lost sales and unnecessary expenditures. All of these groups are essential in maintaining a strong business in the corporate world. The function of Organizing in my company is also essential as for all other medium to large companies. At almost every step of the manufacturing process is a plan to put into effect that process. Without leadership you could not possibly run even a small mom and pop business then a large corporation. There must be a reason and a way to every aspect of any process that a company uses, if not more than likely that what ever is dead weight will be found one way or the other and will be cut. This is essential for making the right decisions on how many parts to build for a specific order. Leading is very important to a company, for if there was no leadership at all and no direction to be taken there would be chaos and nothing would be done or too much of something would be done. The function of Leading is to make things within the company happen. Management directs the process of work being done.
