Two important steps that we go through in life are high school and college. School plays an important role in our society. Even though some people would think they are almost similar, there are also many significant differences between them.
             The similarities between high school and college is that they both provide education to all students, offer same basic courses that meet a requirement, while involving students in sports and activities. College is a place where you inquire knowledge; you learn something new everyday. It's a place where you must study and focus on your work. In high school you must also take time to do your work. Just like college, work in high school is also done both in school and at home. It's a place where you focus on learning new stuff. You must study to become better in a specific subject. In college you have many friends that you become very close to. These friends are the people that you trust and feel very comfortable around. When you arrive at college not knowing these people and most likely end it with a special relationship towards someone. In high school you also arrive without knowing anyone and start to find new friends. These friends are your buddies for life. You will never forget the times you had with them.
             As similar these two schools can be, they also have many significantly differences. Such as going to college is by choice, it is required to pay for tuition and books, and it is our decision which teacher we request to educate us. The law requires being in high school, but when deciding to continue your education after high school you are then choosing to go to school by choice. We also have a great difference between the financial situations between these two schools.
