             Many people today like to smoke cigarettes because it relaxes them, reduce their anxiety, anger and it gives them pleasure. However, many people are suffering from cancer because of cigarette smoking and second hand smoke. According to the website www.thetruth.com about 1 out of every 5 deaths in the United States is because of cigarette. How could the government have allowed this to happen to us? They let the tobacco companies sell products that are very hazardous to our health. The government should ban the cigarette now because it contains hazardous chemicals, can cause different diseases, stress, birth defects, and accidents.
             Cigarette smoking helps people to relax. According to the website www.apa.org, they found that 80% of the smokers agreed with statements indicating that cigarette smoking was relaxing. This was also true based on my experienced with my friends. My friends always smoke all the time and the reason that they always tell me is because it makes them calmed and relaxed. My friends would also smoke a lot before they take a test or before they present a speech. Their reason was it helps them lose their anxiety and nervousness. However, these findings suggest that smoking aids mood control according to the website www.apa.org. When they have not smoked recently, feelings of irritability is building up during periods of nicotine abstinence. Therefore smoking doesn't make the smoker less irritable or vulnerable to annoyance, not smoking or insufficient nicotine makes him or her more vulnerable.
             Another thing a cigarette can do to smokers is it can accelerate weight loss. According to the website www.priory.com/med/cigsmoking.htm smokers in the Long Term Care Facility a smoker lose weight faster than a non-smoker. The study done shows those smokers had a lower body mass index on admission compared with non-smokers. Also the smokers who lost weight did so at a faster rate than non-smok...
