Gangster Rap and its negative influence Gangster Rap and Rap has grown to a cultural phenomenon, taking today's youth by storm. Rap originated from the Bronx in the late 70's. The early rappers and rap groups talked about life, police brutality, racial issues and politics like Run DMC and Public Enemy, they concentrated on such topics as break dancing, graffiti and party'sFrom the early 90's rap took a drastic turn becoming to what is now know as 'Gangsta Rap.' Groups such as N.W.A(Niggas with Attitude), Eazy- E and 2pac grabbed national attention with their hit song "[Expletive deleted] the Police" such topics and words have become common in today's rap industry. The glorification of drug dealing, pimping, pot smoking and violence is common in gangsta rap. The fact is that with out the sexual explicit lyrics and violence the music wont sell and the rappers wont make money. Gangsta rap is not here for moral purposes its here to make money. Rap is music to entertain, but it is also ammo given to young people, words that will influence young unsupervised lives to the things they hear and see on TV. All rap is not bad, it is the rap that influences young children to do and
Gangsta rap is not the one that pulls the trigger, but gangsta rappers do have an influence in the young lives that can prevent them from pulling it. Gangsta rap is need of a reality check, the influence it has in themusic and fashion industry is amazing and should be use for a greater purpose other thancorrupting the young lives in America. Rap should be a tool to encourage political views, encourage a higher education and to help resolve problems through the essence of rap like the early pioneers did. Christian Rap has grown over the years encouraging sex after marriage, living a moral life and living for God. Some of the ways to eliminate Gangster Rap would be to encourage rappers such as Mos Def, The Roots and Twelib Kalib which have mainly stayed underground. Cam'ron was too ignorant to recognize the damage he does to people that are easily influenced, yet his alibi was that young kids will imitate his CEO status. The rap culture has taken this world bystorm and taking the moral values with it while planting corruption, premarital sex and other obscene lyrics. was asked in an interview if he liked or ever listened to gangsta rap, and what did he learn from listening to such music: Growing up I listened to Ice Cube and Eazy-E because I thought it was cool and Around my neighborhood that is what everybody listened to. Easy-E the pioneerof gangsta rap died of Aids in 1995 while laying on his death bead he told family and friends "I have seven children by six different mothers, maybe success was to good to me.
