             My Experience With Weight Supplements
             One of the problems of being me is coping with a super active metabolism. For others it could be seen as a blessing: eat all day and develop muscle tone by just sitting and eating some more. However, a super fast metabolism is the last thing I want.. I have been trying to gain muscle mass since I was a sophomore in high school. For two years I had a routine weight program that I adhered to along with the regular athletics I was already part of. In those two years I gained a mere 15 pounds. Those results were from following the advice of my coaches and father; eat right and work out. For the past two years I decided to take my weight lifting in a different direction and that is through the use of weight supplements. Never in my life have I seen greater results nor have I heard as many people tell me "Watch what you take, James; a lot of that stuff can do serious damage to your body." This warning I never paid much attention to because presently it seems as if the right doctor can find any ingestible substances harmful.
             Weight lifting supplements are highly beneficial because if taken correctly, they increase one's muscle mass, the health risks (if any) are significantly low, and the end results any lifter will find extraordinarily satisfactory. The three products that I will be examining in this essay are supplemental shakes, creatine, and androstenedione. Supplemental shakes add to a person's daily-required amount of protein and calories. creatine is a natural supplement found in our bodies but not in a large enough quantity to yield remarkable results. And finally androstenedione is a rather new and very controversial weight supplement that has many athletic organizations (MLB, NCAA, NFL) urging its removal from store shelves.
