The term education has several definitions, it can be defined as, the act or process of educating or being educated or it refers to the one received from an educational institution, in other words a college. An individual's character and identity is separated from others around due to the foundation education forms. Education usually originates at home through parents and from the observation of people around. As a result, it plays an essential part in the formation of an individual's character. In this paper, I will discuss the values and benefits of obtaining a college education. A college education increases career opportunities and provides a better earning power. Obtaining a degree can result in a vast of employment opportunities because today's employers consider it a necessity. Employers often screen out applicants without a degree, from the interviewing process, regardless of their experience and skill. Those that are a chosen to be qualified candidates are usually highly rewarded financially than those without a degree. A college education appreciates in value instead of depreciating. This has a tendency to keep their minds off the usual work and feel like part of the world. College educated people tend to be healthier and better human beings. The children are more likely to follow in the same steps and attend college themselves. Colleges provide different degrees to students so they may improve or expand their knowledge in a different career area. The rate of unemployment was less than half of the rate of people with a high school diploma. Investing money, time, effort and energy in obtaining a college education is worth the effort. A college education is a worthy investment. This produces a healthier and better human being. The rate of adult deaths and crime result in a decrease within the nation. The different skills that individuals at college learn to help develop flexibility to ever-changeable environments at the workplace. As per William Blake's quote, "Education makes a people easy to lead, but difficult to drive; easy to govern, but impossible to enslave. People without a college degree earn a yearly salary amounting to approximately $12,447, whereas well-qualified students are able to earn up to $83,089. " In other words, obtaining an education is a challenge and expensive but at the end we will receive the well-deserved compensation.
