High times or high crimes?

Marijuana is the most common drug used in the world. Because it is the least dangerous drug, most curious people will start off with marijuana first before attempting to do other drugs. Marijuana is made with dried leaves and flowering tops of an Indian hemp plant cannabis sativa. People use marijuana in many different ways such as smoking, chewing, or eating it for their hallucinogenic and intoxicating effects. The flowering tops of the cannabis plant produce a sticky resin that contains the active ingredient known as delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). Marijuana comes in forms of both male and female, and the female plant is the most potent. As early as 3000 BC, marijuana has been extensively used as both medicine and an intoxicant in India, China, and Central Asia. The marijuana boom in the United States occurred during the 1960s and 1970s and continued through the end of the 20th century. According to the United States Drug Enforcement Agency, marijuana use among teenagers increased 300 percent, a dramatic increase from 1992 to 1998. Despite the negative effects of marijuana, there are some reasons one could argue on why marijuana is helpful in battling unpleasant symptoms associated with medical conditions. Supporters of medical marijuana fear that this ruling may ultimately make it harder for people to claim a medical-necessity defense in state courts. When a person is under the influence of marijuana, he or she will have an altered perception of time and space where things are slower and smaller. Despite the positive feelings marijuana can emit, there are also negative effects. These state laws do not coincide with federal laws that forbid the use, possession, growth, or distribution of marijuana for any purpose. If smoked, the THC will be absorbed into the bloodstream faster, making the effects work immediately. If the results of these situations are successful, this means that the trials could lead to the approval of such medicines in Europe. A person's ability to memorize certain things will disappear. Marijuana consumers would describe the two phases of intoxication as initial stimulation followed by sedation. Pure THC has been proven that it increases appetite and prevents the severe weight loss connected with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), and it also reduces the sickness caused by radiation treatments and chemotherapy.
