High times or high crimes?
Marijuana is the most common drug used in the world. Because it is the least dangerous drug, most curious people will start off with marijuana first before attempting to do other drugs. Marijuana is made with dried leaves and flowering tops of an Indian hemp plant cannabis sativa. People use marijuana in many different ways such as smoking, chewing, or eating it for their hallucinogenic and intoxicating effects. Despite the negative effects of marijuana, there are some reasons one could argue on why marijuana is helpful in battling unpleasant symptoms associated with medical conditions. Supporters of medical marijuana fear that this ruling may ultimately make it harder for people to claim a medical-necessity defense in state courts. When a person is under the influence of marijuana, he or she will have an altered perception of time and space where things are slower and smaller. Despite the positive feelings marijuana can emit, there are also negative effects. These state laws do not coincide with federal laws that forbid the use, possession, growth, or distribution of marijuana for any purpose. If smoked, the THC will be absorbed into the bloodstream faster, making the effects work immediately.
