             Moral judgements are unavoidable. As it is to be expected, there is no single perspective on how to judge or evaluate moral decisions that everyone will agree with. One reason being is people's view on morality differs. In this case, morality refers to the beliefs that tell us how to live a good life by following standards of what's believed to be right and wrong. For the most part, the Bible, along with your individual conscience, is the best foundation for making moral judgements regarding social and public issues.
             God's Word, the Bible, was written for the people as a book to live by. Within its pages we find His moral codes to us, and His standards for what is right and wrong. In addition, He imprinted His rules into our hearts, enabling us to determine that murdering, lying, stealing, etc., is wrong without having to think twice about it. When looking at moral issues, people should turn to the Bible to see what's written in God's Word because it provides a specific standpoint and a set of guidelines from which you can decide what's morally acceptable. The epitome of good and what is right is exemplified to us through acts done by Jesus.
             When chosen to be the foundation for making moral judgements, the Bible makes it easy to decide what is right and wrong. For example, when looking at whether capital punishment is acceptable or not, Matthew 5:38-42 states, "You have heard that it was said, 'Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.' But I tell you, Do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also...Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you." In these verses, Jesus tells you to dismiss the 'eye for an eye' comment because you are no better than the person who does wrong if you do the same thing back to him.
