             Every since I was in school I have admired most of my teachers and thought often about what it would be like to be a teacher. In high school I began to think about different ways to teach so that I would be a more effective teacher. I have always loved kids I even have two of my own. I have been a caregiver to many of my nieces and nephews as I was growing up. I have also worked with children in many areas of their lives, and in recent semesters in a classroom setting.
             Over the past two years I have been privileged to be a personal tutor to children 10 years of age. I have been responsible for almost every aspect of their in school activities. I have supervised their homework and gave reinforcements to class work.
             I have also gotten an award for assistant of the year. I enjoy every moment of the experience, and this has confirmed my commitment to becoming a teacher.
             Working with Mt. Levi Daycare during the summer also made me realize how much I enjoyed being around kids. This involved me having to develop a firm discipline and respect of the kids. I realized they liked my personality and found they could come to me with questions about homework and other issues.
             Through the years that I have been in college, I have come to enjoy the subjects I have studied and feel enthusiastic about wanting the sort of information I have learned. I realize that I still have much more to learn to support my knowledge and classroom management skills.
             I have realized that there have been many things that I have done that have been building blocks for becoming a teacher. Every day I believe I become more passionate about becoming a teacher and can hardly wait until that day arrives.
