a tale of two cities
This world is filled with all kinds of societies, but the major two of them are the rich andthe poor. These two groups have many difference between them, the way they are treated and the way they are shown to the world. In the novel A Tale Of Two Cities , by CharlesDickens shows us how these two groups are laid out to the world to look at ( thearistocrats and the peasants ) in France during the 1700's. Aristocrats are the rulers ofFrance and often they are abusive to the peasants and they can get away with anything. While peasants are looked upon as the lower ones.Dickens shows how the Marquis usethere power and privileges to do what they want, but the impecunious peasants can't do anything about it because of there poorness. Dickens contrast the poverty oppression of the people of St. Antoine with
Charles Darnay to his uncle the MarquisSt. Instead ofshowing sympathy towards that poor kids father he just ran over, he turns around blamingthem that they can't take care of there kids. For example the wine that spilled in the street, ". The poor got tired of the rich people controllingthem. thewealth and privilege of the Marquis. The streets of Saint Antoine were filled with fear that people had in thereminds about what was going to happen. Marquis didn't care about the people of Saint Antoine because of there wealth andprivileges they had over them. Aristocrats push the limits so far that the poor peasants can't take it no more and to a pointuntil they have nothing to loose, they finally burst out distorting things in there path to letloose. Evremonde, " We have wounded every human creature who has come between us andour pleasure". Evermond ran over a kid, he said, "It isextraordinary to me that you people can't take care of yourselves or your children.
