             With all the top cricket brass from India here for the final ODI a hussled meeting was called this morning to discuss key issues on the Future of Indian Cricket. The Charman of the Board started with a brief about CRICKET ,the summary of which was as follows
             Cricket 's beginnings go back to 1598 in Guilford in UK .But it was much later in 1882 that England played Australia in the Oval and lost to Australia.              From such a simple game with humble beginnings it has become a complex sport today.It was in 1932 that body line bowling started and it was only in the last 2 decades that, helmets,abdominal guards, chest guards arm guards etc came into existance. Today South Asia dominates the game with 3 of the countries having won a world cup.With the coming of TV coverage came in tv umpires and cameras on stumps,notwithstanding tons of money for TV rights.
             So it is obvious he said that the game has to change with times.
             Cricket was originally known to have been played by shepards and then in England was a punishment for those who did not attend church on Sundays..Today if you are a player in the Indian Team you are a demy-godt he said.. In this Space Age we need to make changes in the way the game is played. Take the 1 day games that has become so popular now he retorted..with players dressed as clowns in the colorful attire.
             We will disect our problem into 3 he said and find ways to improve each of the areas --batting-bowling --wicketkeeping.Afterall if we bat and bowl well we wont need much fielding he remarked.
