             The following document presents the information system and its evolution at SETIL Aéroports which manages six of French Polynesia's airports. The firm is in the process of upgrading its information system in order to help attain strategic goals for the firm. These objectives include enhancing professional image to match national standards, improve efficiency and productivity, optimize internal and external communications and develop customer service excellence .
             First, a brief presentation of the existing information system will be presented. Some remarks will be made as to the recent evolution of the system and its main components. Then, the future evolution of the different segments of the system will be presented. The specific business process of passenger screening and inspection will be detailed and an emerging technology will be introduced. The benefits of this technology will be listed and analyzed. It will be linked to the main information system by creating a passenger database that will serve invoicing, statistical and budgetary purposes.
             The current information system is divided in three main productivity levels: administrative, individual and collective. The administrative level includes all basic professional applications. The individual level consists of tools that process all data collected at the administrative level. Finally, the collective level is subdivided in two main categories; external and internal communication. Its main objective is to establish a network to share the information collected. These processes will be further detailed in sections below.
             The professional applications feed the raw data to the information system.
