             Macbeth is a man full of "vaulting Ambition." His will to become stronger makes him a man that will believe in anything and accomplish any task. At first he had the strength of a brave and moral character, which gradually grew into the strength of an evil character. One of the things that jump-started his "vaulting ambition" was the prophecy of the three witches. Banquo was also a victim of the witches, as they predicted that his sons would some day become king. Lady Macbeth is a woman full of ambition and determination. She will use her powers to achieve what she wants to be done, at least in the beginning. In the early stages of Macbeth, we see that Macbeth and Lady Macbeth have a strong relationship. As it continues we will find that, as Macbeth grows stronger Lady Macbeth grows weaker.
             As the play continues you see both characters go through enormous change. Most of the change occurred before they go ahead with the murder of King Duncan. This is when Macbeth became hesitant about whether or not he should kill Duncan. Lady Macbeth, using her manipulative skills, states, "What beast were 't that made you break your enterprise with me?" She threatens him and ended up making the decision for Macbeth and he went through with it because of his overwhelming love for her. Here, Macbeth is showing a weakness because he's allowing Lady Macbeth to manipulate him.
             After the murder, Macbeth and Lady Macbeth become blood thirsty in a way, not for the enjoyment, but for the sake of Macbeth to become the ruler. This is the first step that leads them to walk down an evil trail and the deteriation of their personalities. At this stage Macbeth and Lady Macbeth are starting to break down.
