Implementing Problem-Solving Solutions

             Without planning, the implementation of problem-solving solutions in the business environment is nearly always doomed to fail because adequate planning beforehand illustrates a clear understanding of the problem to be solved, and how to go about creating solutions. One key to the planning and implementing of problem solving solutions is self-confidence, according to many experts. Without the self-confidence to plan and implement good solutions, procrastination and avoidance often set in, and the problem never finds a solution. One expert notes, "When we overcome the lack of self-confidence and feelings of self-doubt, then problem solving and decision making, becomes second nature to us" (Price, 2001). Price goes on to use Frederick W. Smith, the founder of FedEx, as a prime example of a
             self-confident problem solver, because he perceived a need that was not being met, and produced a creative solution to meet the need. "Smith said: 'We thought that we were selling the transportation of goods; in fact, we were selling peace of mind.' - Fred Smith's focus and self-confidence was a force in his innovation and problem solving solutions" (Price, 2001). Thus, it takes self-confidence to create and implement the best problem-solving solutions.
             Problem-solving solutions affect every facet of the business world, and much of our personal lives as well, and so effective planning for problem-solving can spill over into every aspect of our lives. Clear and concise communication is also key in planning and implementing problem-solving solutions. If the problem is not communicated, then solving it will be much more difficult. Also, if the solution to the problem is not just as communicated, then it may not work, and the problem will remain, and time will be wasted on a solution that does not solve the problem.
