             4.Plot: Tim Harker- Jones is committed by a publishing house in London to write the biography of the famous writer Philip Carston. He visits Romania in order to clarify certain information gaps concerning Carston's later years. During his first visit as a guest of the Writer's Union, in the late ' 80 's Tim finds himself seized in an intricate web of human relations and coincidences which leave him in a state of perpetual bewilderment and lead to a series of cultural blunderings. A second visit in May 1990 confronts Tim with early posttotalitarian Romania and will reveal the true extent of Carolina Predeanu's contribution to Carston's novel A TIME APART and the passionate love affair between the two.
