I stood transfixed at the landing of the John Paul Getty museumstairs, my feet so frozen to the floor that the patrons behind me had toimpatiently pass on either side. I heard several disgruntled "Excuse me!"but paid no heed, for centered before me on the far wall was the mostvibrant painting I had ever seen in my life. Blue and green hues leapt fromthe canvas to my eyes, which were so bugged out that my companion was "Nothing!" I replied. "Did you look at that painting-it's a-a-amazing," I exclaimed.
