Kenma Consulting Services is a firm that aims to provide engineeringconsulting services to the petroleum industry to perform non-destructivetesting (NDT). It is a Texan based organization providing both field andlaboratory inspection services. Its services will include a full range ofNDT, Quality Control and Quality Assurance functions, and physical testing. They would also feel that their feedback had been consideredimportant and had been kept in mind before reaching or allocating anyfunding, equipment or setting any targets. Kenma feels that setting up offices at different locations will increase the management control and supervisory requirements that these locations may require in addition to an increase in the cost to operate multiple locations. In addition to this are the environmental issues that also must be considered at all times. What a participativeleader does best is that he is able to identify each member's strengths andworks out a plan in which he is able to capitalize on each one's strengthswithout making any single member feel less productive or left out. Working with teams will ensure that eachteam understands its objectives and aims to ensure it fulfills itsrequirements. Kenma must also plan in a manner that it incurs minimum operational expenses during the initial start-up phase so as to be able to develop a cost-effective non-destructive testing (NDT) program. In order to be able to achieve this objective, Kenma needsa Participative style of leadership to ensure effective implementation ofits team structure. Moreover, Kenma aims to offer premium-customized services which wouldfurther require a very effective leadership style.
