Business Ethics and Environmental Issues

             I will discuss why businesses should start thinking about the environment more seriously and not only about making profits. I believe this is an ethical issue because, in today's competitive and cutthroat business environment, companies have forgotten that they have a role to play in the society, they have to realize that the only goal of a business is not just profit, Businesses should take their ethical responsibilities regarding the environment more seriously.
             I chose this topic to highlight business and the environment and discuss the environmental responsibilities these businesses have.
             Let me talk a bit about ethics. What are ethics? Ethics refers to standards of conduct, standards that indicate how one should behave based on moral duties and virtues derived from principles of right and wrong. To apply this definition to practical decision-making, it is necessary to specify the nature of the moral obligations considered intrinsic to ethical behavior.
             There are two aspects to ethics: the first involves the ability to discern right from wrong, good from evil, and decency from impropriety; the second consists of the commitment to do what is right, sound, and proper. Ethics is an action concept; it is not simply an idea to think and argue about.
             Now I am going to talk a bit more about business ethics. What exactly is business ethics..?
             Business ethics is just nothing but applied ethics. It is the application of our understanding of what is good and right to that assortment of institutions, technologies, transactions, activities, and pursuits which we call "business.
