There are several kinds of metadata used by my company in databaseimplementation. Some of key metadata relate to customers, products,services, sales, returns, and warranty. One of the problems that my company issuffering is that it lacks the inter-functional and inter-organizationalcoordination. However, not all of thedefinitions and formatting of metadata are same, since each of the companydivisions' devise and work with their own systems. The outputs of the databases consist of customer name, customeraddress, and customer's billing address. Some of thedepartmental databases also provide output about the late payment and bad-credit history of the customers that help management in making the quickdecisions about customers' and their payment schedules. There are also several other outputs that relateto sales people, their shifts, commissions, and pay-rate. However, at presently the company is suffering with redundancy inresponding to customer inquiries. Although my company isplanning to make investment in customer relation management (CRM) softwareto target the right customers, at the right time, with the right offer. tabasesare sufficient for answering the customer queries. Presently, most of the coordination mechanisms are utilizedby the sales and marketing employees, instead of the IT.
