Importance of Goals
Each person is given the opportunity to influence the world. Thechoices that we make daily have an impact on the course of our ownindividual lives and also on the community as a whole. The experiencesthat I have had throughout my life have helped me to find a balance betweenmeeting my own needs and helping others. My future career will go hand-in-hand with continuing to serve my community.

This was encouraged by myloving parents, who taught me to share, whether that be my toys with otherchildren or goods with needy families. I will peruse a position as an Underwriter of a Property andCasualty Insurance company, a career which allow me to be part of helpingfamilies to rebuild after tragedy and bring hope to people in direcircumstances. As for my own career, my goal is to finish my degree and obtain aBachelors in Business management; higher education is central to my lifegoals. One year ago, ovarian cancer claimed my mother's life. My mother is also responsible for an important lesson in my life. Additionally, this behavior wasreinforced by my school; in high school I was given the Principals Awardfor helping encourage every member of my peer group to stay in school andget a high school diploma. I have become actively interested in community services that would benefitwomen with this disease and their families. In addition to being involvedwith cancer-specific organizations, I look forward to working with Habitatfor Humanity to assist single mothers and distraught families.
