The Minor Prophet Hosea

How many Old Testament worthies do we tend to examine and realize by way of their family! The Old Testament is in fact a family literature. We have read about the family relationships of almost of all of its important dignitaries, and out of them the description of family life of Hosea is the most heartrending. Are the references relating to him made therein a metaphor, or do they symbolize his pitiable experiences? The doubt remains exegetically important; however its answers allow us to understand the vast preaching of Hosea regarding the love of God. (Smith, 94) The wedlock between Hosea and Gomer describes an example, a vibrant representation, of the relationship between God and His men. Hosea and Gomer's marriage was an enforced one which in the olden times was referred to as a 'shotgun marriage'. It cannot be assumed in the connotation that the bride was pregnant, it was compulsory in the meaning that it was God's orders for Hosea to marry Gomer. The rationale behind Hosea marrying Gomer was that the Word of God as sermonized did no more make any impact on Israel; none obeyed the prophets of God any longer. Thus the verbalized Word was required to be interspersed by actions, by a Word being acted out. The people of Israel

(Sermon on Hosea 1:2)Regardless of the loyalty, God, similar to Hosea, at no point gave up his love for His bride. (Series: Hosea: Unbroken Love from A Broken Heart)The Lord was completely aware that even though Gomer's return was against her will and her heart will not beat for Hosea at the moment, there was no certainty that despite the Israelites were compelled to devote time only with God their hearts would come back to God immediately. She considers that she is a just an object of lust to be enjoyed by men. Even in betrayal, God still desired Israel to become his true wife. The identical matter can be said regarding the Church which we say about Israel. He handed over the payoff, took her home and gave her the identity as his wife. During this period, her illicit relationships with other men were known to everybody. This is going to be the highest expression of God as God, and Israel must have an understanding of this fact in case she is required to make Him known in this manner. Bring her back home where she belongs, even if you have to make a fool of yourself in front of others, or you have to go against all common human wisdom about the chances of this relationship ever working out, or others suggest it is codependency that is driving you. As the relationship between Gomer and Hosea had ended, however not legally, Hosea did not have any reason to speak about anything more than this about Gomer. He will return her back to the Land, however, it is going to be several days prior to her restoration and arrive into an appropriate attitude. " (Series: Hosea: Unbroken Love from A Broken Heart) The country has to pass through in restraint for a lot of days which Gomer did. Gomer has in store for this season to remain under the vigilant eyes of Hosea; and in Israel's store was going to have the curative, tolerant presence of God who stood there. (Hosea: What's Love Got to do with it?) Only two words can conclude Hosea's viewpoint and approach: faithfulness and love. Irrespective of Gomer's behavior and in spite of the number of lovers she was engaged with, Hosea's love for her did not end and he was committed to his wife.
