an amition
Everyone wants to be happy but not everyone is happy. What we work for in our life usually doesn't happen, and if it does then we should consider our self lucky. Do not start celebrating before you establish a strong grasp around it. Sometimes, you even drop things from your palm or you think you have it, when you don't. I came to Canada on May 14 2001. Before I came to Canada, I was doing badly on Mathematics. Once, I almost failed my math final exam. I got 52 out of 100. I used to feel really bad because my friends used to insult me by telling me, "How come your dad is an electrical engineer and you are bad in math?" I could not make them understand that just because my dad was good with numbers; it didn't mean I had to be good at it as well. Therefore, I always used to pray to God to improve my performance in math.Well, my prayer never came true in my home country. However, surprisingly it came true when I came to Canada. I found my grade 9 math really easy and interesting. I started working hard to get a good mark in that class and I ended up with an 82%. I was really surprised and happy with my mark. I had pretty good marks in my other classes too. Therefore, I was looking forward for an award at the end of the semester.
I promised myself this time I wouldn't make any mistakes, I would ask my teachers when and where to go. It was the end of the week and I was exhausted because of all work from all my classes. I was wondering "why there was no announcement". That was the second semester of my first school year in Canada. They took out a piece of paper, gave it to me, and said, "There you go". I went to the guidance and the she told me to make an appointment and come back later. The voice call was on and the teachers were asked to let the students go. I was really ecstatic about getting the award. I had English class during the fourth period. No one clapped, no body smiled or no one stared at me. I managed to receive an average of 83%. Do you wanna take my attendance down to the office and ask them what's going on?" I went to the office; they sent me to talk to the vice-principal. " Time passed and I was in grade 10. I was really excited about my average. I went back to my class and started thinking about what was going happen on Monday.
